LLC. These comments are being submitted on their behalf with respect to the above-referenced transfer applications, T-12247 and T-12248. We understand these applications are intended to support a new proposed dairy operation, whereby groundwater rights would be transferred to Te velde for the proposed dairy (from Bosma to Te velde), and in return, surface water rights would be provided back to Bosma in exchange (from Te velde to Bosma). Meenderinck Land Co. LLC holds groundwater rights (T-8867) on land that is adjacent to the proposed dairy site. Given the location of the proposed points of appropriation for the proposed dairy in relation to the Meenderincks’ existing well, the amount of water being requested, and the overall state of the groundwater resource, the Meenderincks are very concerned that the use of groundwater for the proposed dairy will result in injury to the Meenderincks’ existing water rights. The Meenderincks believe the requested water right transfers should either be denied or at least substantially conditioned in order to avoid injury to their existing rights. The Meenderincks have attempted to contact Mr. Te velde without success. They would welcome a conversation with him to discuss their concerns.
