derived by interpretations of paper records. While the Department is striving to keep the data
current some areas of the state are as much as 15 years out of date. The water right themes
currently do not include irrigation district rights.

The Department makes every effort to show every current water right even in cases where original
source maps are absent or are difficult to interpret. In those cases, water right features are
shown as small symbols (dots for PODs and diamonds for POUs) in the center of the appropriate
Public Land Survey section quarter-quarter.
